Bed Bug Infestations – Considerations

Bed Bug Infestations

Every year, 1 in 5 American homes report a bed bug infestation. Most people don’t like to think about bed bugs, but the truth is that no home is immune. Bed bug infestations are not caused by a messy home, pets, or unhygienic people. They can ride in on clothing, come from second-hand purchases, or in your luggage after a trip.

Bed bug detection and professional extermination is the best way to identify and control bed bugs, and we are here to help.

Bed Bug Detection

Many people who have had to deal with a bed bug infestation mistakenly thought it was a flea problem. While they are trying the conventional methods of controlling fleas, their problem only gets worse. Identifying bed bugs early is important. Here are ways to know if you have bed bugs:

  • Bed bug bites are itchy, raised dots. Sometimes the skin around it will welt or even break out in hives. Some people have a more severe reaction, like developing a rash or infection. If there are bed bugs, you will wake up with new bite marks in the morning.

  • Bed bugs are red-brown, flat, wingless insects. Look for them in the sheets, the seams on the mattress, and pillowcases. You may also find small white eggs or white larvae. Sometimes there will be small stains on sheets, this could be the bugs’ fecal matter. Check the headboard and legs of the bed and other furniture in the room.

Bed Bug Extermination

We use the most advanced beg bug removal and prevention treatments in the pest control industry to get rid of bed bugs and stop re-infestation.

  • Heat Treatment System –Heat is non-toxic and can kill all bed bug life stages, including their eggs. Our Heat Treatment System is one of the most effective tools we provide for controlling bed bugs.
  • Vacuum System – We use a high-quality HEPA filtration system which traps 99.99% of all particles as tiny as 0.3 micron, including bed bugs and their eggs.
  • Steamers – Our steamers produce steam more than 200°F –more than enough to kill bed bugs and their eggs on contact.
  • Mother Earth D Pest Control Dust – An organic, broad spectrum desiccant dust containing 100% high purity, fresh water diatomaceous earth, which naturally cuts insects’ protective shells like sharp ground-up glass and kills them.
  • Active Guard™ Mattress Liners – After treatment, we recommend using these safe, pesticide-infused mattress liners to kill any missed bugs or eggs and to prevent your mattresses from being re-infested.
  • Bed Bug Moat Since bed bugs can easily climb up legs and into your bed or furniture, we place Bed Bug Moats at the base of all your furniture legs. Bed bugs climb the specially designed rough outer wall then drop into the slick inner part and become trapped.

If you suspect you have bed bugs, don’t wait. Call us at 904-783-2425 to schedule an in-home inspection. We will find the right treatment to eliminate bed bugs from your home.
